KRAUS History
1939
Company founded by Dr. Hans Kraus in Pörtschach am Wörthersee/Austria.
Production of wheeled chests and sack trucks made of wood art.
Start of the 1950s
Comprehensive range of transport devices made of metal.
Customised transport devices and trailers.
New business unit "wheels and castors".
1980s
Specialises in roller conveyors and conveying equipment.
The new company headquarters are located in Klagenfurt/Austria: 22,000 m² in size, the new company grounds offer sufficient space to set up the company’s own conveyor roller production facility.
Since 1991
KRAUS has been producing conveyor rollers itself.
Thus creating crucial quality and price benefits for their own roller conveyor production.
May 2000
Sold to the market-listed company Manutan International S.A. – a leading mail order company for industrial, works and office equipment in Europe.
Start of B2B catalogue mail order trading and extension of the range of equipment delivered to include the works equipment business field.
February 2006
As a result of a management buy-out, KRAUS returns to Kärnten ownership and concentrates completely on its strengths again.
Alongside the production of conveyor rollers and conveying elements, these include selling wheels and castors, transport devices and works equipment for warehouses and workshops.
October 2006
KRAUS invests in industrial production and the development of new business markets.
About eight months after the MBO, industrially manufactured idler rollers leave the KRAUS assembly line, the first time they have been produced in Austria.
January 2014
With the first drive roller, diameter 50 mm, produced in series, which has neither a gearbox nor sensors, KRAUS opened up a new chapter in the field of parcel logistics.
This technological revolution in the field of conveying equipment answers the challenges faced by logistics in the 21st century.
September 2016
77 years of KRAUS - 25 years in Klagenfurt - 10 years of ownership by Dieter Wagner.
Celebrations take place with KRAUS employees and business partners from Austria and abroad.
October 2017
For the first time in company history, the € 10 million mark is not only passed, it is easily exceeded with € 11 million!
Mai 2018
KRAUS invests more than 5 Mio Euro.
The investment program was used to stength the digital section as well as to extend the production of conveyor rollers.

On the 28th of Juni 2019 KRAUS celebrated its 80th yeares anniversary together with more than 250 customers, suppliers, employees and business partners. The event took place in the new factory hall at the KRAUS headquarter.
